Jurassic walks – Kielniki Quarry

You come to the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland – beautiful views, rocks, hills ❣️
A paradise for more active walks or outdoor sports 😍

Now imagine that where you’re standing right now, millions of years ago, a warm, shallow sea roared.
Sponges, corals, and ammonites lived there 😍

The “Kielniki Quarry” geological trail has several stops, which we should cover in about 3 hours.
Besides the family and the dogs, of course, it’s worth bringing hiking boots, something to drink, and something to eat.
This is one of our favorite places on the Jurassic Trail ❣️

In the disused Kielniki quarry, which has exposed the interior of a limestone hill, you can see fossils – sponges and ammonites – and learn about the geological structure of the area.
The Kielniki Cave and the Magazyn Cave, two caves located along the trail, are examples of underground karst formations – a unique environment, significantly different from the one we live in.

And for those tired from the long walk, a moment of rest, relaxation, and delicious food at Złoty Potok near the Amerykan pond 😍
It was a wonderful first day of Easter 😍
