Today we went to a secluded place to take a long walk, get really tired, get dirty, take a breather and rest from the challenges of everyday life.
We went again to explore the flooded iron ore mine “Bibiela” 🌳
We like places where there are no crowds of people, but at the same time you can see something cool and encounter history 🙂
Nature is increasingly claiming this place, so it’s worth going there for a walk with your family and pets 🐕🐩🦮
➡️ The “Bibiela” mine in a nutshell ⬅️
👉 This is an iron ore mine opened in 1889 in the middle of the forest.
👉 After 28 years of operation, in 1917, it was suddenly flooded in just two hours and finally closed. Despite attempts to drain it and investigate the possibility of reopening it, it turned out to be located near a large underground reservoir.
👉 Currently, the flooded mine and the colorful lakes that formed on its grounds are a tourist attraction, accessible, among others, via the yellow “Leśna Rajza” cycling trail.
